Please don't concern yourself about my intelligence/employment opportunities after reading this post. JD has a good job, and apparently he just took out life insurance on us. So responsible.
I have been fishing for any possible p-symptom for the past 6 weeks. And I realized that I finally have one. And a big, exciting one. I'm famished. Now, that's not that unusual. Especially since I've been trying to watch the carbs and sugar and everything else taboo in my delicate state.
But now that I think about it there were a lot of comments about how much I was eating on my bike trip. And here's the definitive proof: the past 3 days I've had dinner at 5 pm. I usually eat between 7 and 8 pm, and I should be at work until 5 pm. But I've had to leave work early because I've been too hungry to think. And I eat a hardy breakfast, lunch, mid-afternoon and late-afternoon (train) snack every day. I even woke up before my alarm the past 2 morning because I was so hungry.
I realize that over-eating is also a sign of depression, but I'm going to take it as a totally positive sign at this point. Because I have to admit to being a bit nervous about the lack of measurement or heartbeat monitoring or anything else at my appointments here. And the fact that my friend lost her baby and didn't realize for 4 weeks is completely terrifying (I know people don't like the term 'lost.' I happen to appreciate it for it's euphemistic strengths).
In other random Friday tidbits, I am a terrible judge of bumps. When I even notice them (remember I missed an 8-month bump on a student in January). 2 weeks ago I was invited to someone's house for shabbos lunch. I figured the wife was home with the kids (ages 3 and 1), but I didn't realize she also had what I took to be a mid-sized bump.* I was supposed to go to her house again tonight, but got a call about 4 pm that she was already in labor. I guess it was a mid-to-full sized bump since the announcement had no touch of angst.
Luckily I got the phone call on the train en route to the supermarket, so I made sure to stock up on food for the next few days. Wishing you all a peaceful/restful weekend.
* In certain Jewish communities women don't talk about their pregnancies or due dates. It is considered to be tempting the evil eye, and an idea which I rather like. I do not plan to tell my friends my exact due date, but just to tell them December.

I think is pretty much NO consensus in symptoms across pregnant women. I haven't been famished exactly, by the idea of eating late or missing a meal makes me lightheaded.
And bumps vary a lot in women. I have had friends look bigger at 5 months than others did at full term.
