Four countries, five trains

And I'm quite sure I flashed at least one person in each place. It's been one of those days.

Tally for the past 7 days: the dreaded pox, RSV, one vomiting stomach bug (still ongoing), and one stomach upset resulting in a completely different type of outcome.

Which really explains how I was quite so distracted tonight. There were a number of canceled trains our final stretch and some guy came to ask me how to get to our little city in Lalaland. A few minutes into the conversation he asked if I was not from someplace other than Lalaland ... and I told him I normally live in the City (sidenote: yay for my local language skills!). Turns out he has an apartment about 10 blocks away from us and we stood in the driving rain a little after midnight reminiscing about 24 hour diners in NYC. A long conversation, folks. And then I casually asked what he did that brought him back and forth. And he gave me a rather puzzled looked and said "I'm a model." Turns out a rather successful male model, which does explain why he looked vaguely familiar. You know, the type of familiar feeling when you see someone from a major billboard pop in with a cameo in a movie? That type of familiar. Leave it to me to fail to notice gorgeous until just before the train shows up.

hahaha! Awesome! I often wonder if I would even recognize a celebrity were I to bump into one...

Of course- that kind of thing never seems to happen to me!

HAHAHA! You know, you get into the funniest situations. Seriously.

Also, giving Nora my cell phone is a parenting tactic known as bribing. I really just can't stand screaming in the car, so some days that seem like really bad car days, I will preemptively give her my phone. She's called random people, taken pictures, and I even think that she's gone on the net a time or two (and we don't have a data plan...). But, for the not screaming in the car thing, it's totally worth it. Some times I wish that we lived some where that had reasonable public transport so that I wouldn't need to put them in carseats, but just take the metro or something.

Did you get my email? It had a stupid title, and I am afraid that it might have gone to your spam folder. /blush/
